Program Description:
Mechatronics Engineering Technology includes various engineering competencies related to electrical, electronics, computer, mechanical and mechatronics. It aims to develop globally competitive multi-skilled technologist and professionals that meets the needs of variety of clients in the industry and specialized technical services. It is aimed at producing globally competitive mechatronics technologist who is well equipped with engineering principles and processes including managerial skills.
The program also includes activities that requires critical thinking skills and innovative ideas in designing, analyzing, creating and developing mechatronics systems applicable to most industries. It also aims to meet the following objectives.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
Graduates of this diploma program shall achieve the following PEOs outcomes three (3) - five (5) years after program completion:
Apply engineering knowledge and technological skills to identify, analyze, and implement solutions to broadly-defined problems in mechatronics, demonstrating sound judgment, innovation, and adherence to industry standards and evolving technologies.
Progress professionally by obtaining relevant employment, assuming supervisory or leadership roles, and actively pursuing lifelong learning through skills upgrading, industry certifications, or further academic studies in engineering or related fields.
Demonstrate professional, ethical, and social responsibility by integrating safety, sustainability, and accountability into engineering practices in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and codes of professional conduct.
Communicate effectively and contribute to multidisciplinary teams, utilizing appropriate technical documentation, digital tools, and interpersonal skills to support the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects.
Adapt to global, technological, and entrepreneurial challenges by embracing diversity, recognizing international engineering practices, and identifying innovative opportunities for product development, process improvement, or enterprise.
