Trainers Methodology I

Goals:

To support the established national standards and levels for outcomes of education and training, skills, and competencies of TVET trainers through innovative instructional delivery and methods.


Objectives:

  • At the end of the course, trainees should be able to:

  • plan, prepare, and organize training session;

  • apply Competency-Based Training delivery approach in facilitating training;

  • establish training requirements, monitor, review, and evaluate work-based learning;

  • conduct assessment in accordance with competency requirements and Assessment Guidelines;

  • maintain training facilities in accordance with OHS and 5S procedure;

  • inspect, operate and maintain audio/video and multimedia equipment in delivering a lesson

Trainers Methodology I

The TRAINERS METHODOLOGY LEVEL I consists of competencies a TVET trainer performing functions of trainer and assessor must achieve. A TVET trainer is a person who enables a learner or a group of learners to develop competencies to perform a particular trade or technical work.


The Units of Competency comprising this qualification include the following:

BASIC COMPETENCIES:

  1. Lead workplace Communication

  2. Apply math and science principles in technical training

  3. Apply environmental principles and advocate conservation

  4. Utilize IT applications in technical training

  5. Lead small teams

  6. Apply work ethics, values and quality principles

  7. Work effectively in vocational education and training

  8. Foster and promote a learning culture

  9. Ensure healthy and safe learning environment

  10. Maintain and enhance professional practice

  11. Develop and promote appreciation for cost-benefits of technical training

  12. Develop and promote global understanding of labor markets


CORE COMPETENCIES:

  1. Plan training sessions

  2. Facilitate learning sessions

  3. Supervise Work-based learning

  4. Conduct competency assessment

  5. Maintain training facilities

  6. Utilize electronic media in facilitating training


A person who has achieved this Qualification is competent to be:

  • TVET Trainer/Technical Trainer

  • Training Facilitator/Coordinator

  • Competency Assessor
