Program Description:
The Diploma in Electromechanical Technology Specialized in Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning integrates essential engineering competencies in electrical, electronics, mechanical, computer, and electromechanical systems with a specialized focus on refrigeration and air-conditioning technologies. The program is designed to develop globally competitive, multi-skilled technologists capable of meeting industry demands in installation, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and system optimization of RAC systems and related electromechanical applications.
Learners are equipped with strong foundations in engineering principles, system diagnostics, control technologies, and energy-efficient practices, complemented by essential managerial, technical, and problem-solving skills. The program emphasizes critical thinking, innovation, and hands-on competencies in designing, analyzing, constructing, and improving electromechanical and RAC systems used across residential, commercial and industrial settings.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES:
Graduates of this diploma program shall achieve the following PEOs outcomes three (3) - five (5) years after program completion:
Apply specialized engineering knowledge and technical skills to identify, analyze, maintain, troubleshoot, and implement solutions to broadly defined electromechanical and RAC problems, using sound judgment, innovation, and adherence to industry standards, codes, and emerging technologies.
Progress professionally by securing relevant employment in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and electromechanical fields; advancing to supervisory or leadership roles; and engaging in lifelong learning through skills enhancement, industry certifications, or further technical and engineering education.
Demonstrate professional, ethical, and social responsibility by integrating safety, environmental stewardship, sustainability, and accountability into all RAC and electromechanical practices in accordance with applicable regulations and codes of conduct.
Communicate effectively and collaborate in multidisciplinary teams, utilizing accurate technical documentation, digital diagnostic tools, and interpersonal skills to support the planning, installation, maintenance, and upgrading of RAC and electromechanical systems.
Adapt to global, technological, and entrepreneurial challenges by embracing diversity, keeping pace with international RAC practices, and identifying opportunities for innovative product development, energy-efficient solutions, system improvement, and service-oriented enterprises.
